EASTER 2012

So this was definitely a good age for egg hunts.  The trio is still not to fond of unknown men dressed up in costumes, but really I'm ok with that!  This year we had plenty of Easter fun, we went to the PAMOM Easter egg hunt, we dyed eggs with 4 toddlers under 2 (crazy, I know), we went to church, and even got in one last egg hunt before it started storming on Easter Sunday!

This year our PAMOM event was at the Owens Farm which is pretty close to Lolli-Pops house.  Of course I missed the memo that you're supposed to practice egg hunting before the big event, but the babies must be naturals because they were all over it!  After a traumatic meeting with the easter bunny we were able to feed some goats, grab a bite to eat ourselves and still manage to make it to the egg hunt on time.

This was also a big day for the babies because we traveled to the farm and had a picnic with several of our relatives from Tyler and Emory!  Unfortunately, my battery died that day so I don't have any pictures.  The kids loved running around and touching all the outdoors stuff.  I was certain a heart attack was in my near future after the kids scattered, but I soon calmed and realized the great outdoors is a VERY fun place for them to explore!  We even got some updated shots of the trio and Jemma on the steps of the old house!  I will update this post when Becca sends me the pictures.

Now for the egg dying story...Rebecca and I made plans to dye eggs with the babies.  We decided we would need all hands on deck expecting this to be a messy project. So naturally I called Lolli and asked her to come help.  She insists that when I called she thought she was going to be watching the kids while Becca and I dyed the eggs.  Needless to say she was shocked upon hearing our plan and reminded us several times of how she would never have let us do this for fear of the mess!  I appeased her fears by telling her of course we will be doing it outside, yes...we'll have a 1 to1 ratio, and I even heard a tip from a friend to use whisks to dip the eggs into the dye.  Now since I'm a newbie at this stuff I've never tried the old fashioned way but this seemed to work very well.   Of course we still broke eggs, spilled the dye cups and had dye ALL over the place but lets face it...4 kids under 2, it was challenging to say the least!  It was all worth it though because the kids had the experience and we took lots of pictures!  The only downfall was when Becca asked me if I wanted to do it again next week, I gave her one of those--are you crazy looks--before answering NO!  Then she gently told me she didn't have a memory card in the camera...bummer!   So now we will have to wait until next year for pictures!   Not even I am looney enough to do that more than once a year!

Easter Sunday was a chilly, rainy day, Jeremy and I spent the night before making 10 dozen mini muffins to take to our sunday school class for breakfast.  Getting to church on time is a bit of a challenge since we have to leave when the kids are normally waking up, but we all made it dressed and ready to go!  I think we were even a little early, oddly enough.  The babies don't understand what Easter is about, but next year we hope to share the real meaning of Easter!
So in our haste to get the kids inside and lunch started I didn't get any good pictures of their outfits.  You can kinda see them while they're looking at their baskets...my bad!  Madison had a beautiful dress loaned from our friend Alicia and the boys looked dashing in their little suits!

As I stop just short of a book, here are some pictures--enjoy!
We love you all, Happy Easter!

The Bunny looks so defeated!  Kids were not impressed!

Our friend Kylee giving Madison a hug!

hmmm...

I wonder what is so shocking!?!

Easter morning after church, this hen in the front is going to provide
many years of entertainment!

Jemma in action!  She wasn't all that interested in picking up eggs.

What a loot!

Even Georgie is curious about this!

Texas Tradition

I'm sad to say that we didn't take the kids to get bluebonnet pictures their first year.  I know, I know...I won't be making parent of the year, but it isn't for that minor infraction, I promise!  We did get some really cute ones this year though!  For those of you that know the area, we went to a huge field out on 78 in Wylie.  It was a really good spot!  I wish we had ventured a little further in and also taken a few more props.  I'll just call this one a learning experience.  We did get some really cute pictures of the trio and Jemma nonetheless!  I won't admit to any of my kids picking any flowers; they were dead when we got there, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Peek-a-Boo

This was in January, we had been playing peek-a-boo. Tyler is a little confused on the whole hide and pop out aspect of this game and Madison seems just as clueless but whatever they had fun! Needless to say they were all three entertained by his silliness!  Sorry about the rotation of the video at the end.  I haven't figured out how to rotate only part of the video...

Our Sick Babies...

Back at the end of January we noticed Tyler began coughing and had a light wheezing sound with his breaths.  Jeremy said I should take him to the doctor.  I fully believed he was fine, but turns out I was told we would be doing an RSV test and he would need to do an immediate breathing treatment oops good thing we went.  After a horrible 20 minutes of holding the mask on Tyler while also keeping the other two kids calm; the doctor came back in and dropped the bomb that the test was positive and after listening to the other two's chests he believed they would have it in the next day or so.  I was in complete shock!  We had been so cautious the first year but was told this winter we should carefully "live life".  On the drive home I remember stopping at Walgreen's for prescriptions and seeing the line of 5 cars in the drive thru.  This sent me over the edge, I called Jeremy crying and told him he had to leave work now.  Of course the bad news continued, 30 minutes later he called and said his car had broken down!  Could it get any worse?!?  Luckily a friend of mine was in the area and offered to pick up our medicine!  News was traveling fast and the phone just kept ringing with people wanting to help...thanks everyone!  Eventually, Jeremy did make it home and he was able to stay and help me some the next day.  We went to the doctor three times that week. :(  All, three babies did end up getting RSV with it settling in their chests requiring the breathing medicine.  For a couple days we were doing them every 2-3 hours!  We were fortunate enough to be able to borrow a couple nebulizers so I was able to have them all 3 going at once (at least until they got tired of that business and I had to hold the masks on again).  After getting over this, we were well for about a week before coming down with the stomach bug that just wouldn't leave!  I actually got sick first with this one!  It seemed like we just kept passing it back and forth!  As you can tell we all eventually got better!
Thanks, again to everyone who helped us make it thru this tough month!  We love you so much!

This was the first night, I love this picture because
you can really see the concern on Carter's face!

By the next day, Tyler was a professional...I do have
to admit TV was a very big part of
keeping them busy.

Madison with her first treatment.  :(

Carter with his first treatment.

My refreshing beverage after a few LONG days!

Carter getting it down!

Madison as a professional.

This treatment was trouble because I was laying on the bed with them,
Madison on the other hand...

was busy causing quite the mess!
I'm glad that was a travel size!

We did a treatment before bed for a couple weeks
until they stopped coughing.

The Burr's Christmas toys were really handy at keeping them distracted!

Random Pictures from Jan.-April

I really am trying to catch up on this blogging thing.  I also downloaded a new app so I may be able to post pictures straight from my phone!  This could be good guys!!  Don't hold your breath though, these kids really keep me busy!

Madison looking fly after bath time!

Mommy playing with her new phone camera!  Pretty good
shot since I was on the porch and they were at the back fence!

PJ party with Curtis!

Sporting the ruby slippers, in the sandbox of course!

Britton told this guy he wanted to touch the alligator
at the children's aquarium.  Us moms just laughed, but
sure enough this man came back with a baby alligator!

Grandma and Tyler being brave!

This little fella was pretty quick!

Glad Madison had on those mud boots!

Little stinkers have learned to pull up the mats.
I laugh at this picture now, because they do this all
the time but, pull up like 6 at a time!!  UGH!

My sweet dates for Valentines Day.  Daddy had to
work late so I decided to take them all out by myself.
I've done this several times since, people
look at me like I am LOONEY!

First ponytail, too bad she refused to look!

Now that's a TRAIN!

GOATS

Way more fun to play with the feeder!

Not sure who wants out more!

Learning to climb the rope!  Carter was first, Madison
soon followed.  Tyler can now do it but it took him
some time!

And the messes have begun!  I remember this day well,
started out with cat poop in the playroom.  I'm not going to
tell which baby had smooshed it into the hotdog bun
and was about to start eating it until LUCKILY I walked by
and thought, that's weird they're all huddled in the corner...
ding ding ding, something's wrong!
Fine Mommy Moment HERE!

Poop in playroom, glass and mess in kitchen...
the backyard is safe, right!?!  Um, NO!
I'm pretty sure this is the day this pot became a toy box!

At least this didn't make a mess!

Tyler dressed for winter one last time, that is of course
with sandals!

Chilling at the dallas zoo!  They must have worn these shirts a lot this month!

We lowered the swings now they can get in and out themselves,
best part is Mommy doesn't have to put the straps on them!

Yet another trip to the zoo!  This time we took Britton!
What's one more??? The swagger wagon comes in handy!

This lizard was all over the place today!  The kids loved him!

Yes, I'm too smart for you babies!
Swinging at the park!
